I mean, either some of her most important marbles have rolled under the refrigerator to stay, or she's becoming one of the more notable screw-ups in Democratic Party history. Didn't she start out with a lead of what, 30%? All gone and then some. Marble-losing just isn't a quality you look for in an American President. Or an American VP either, so let's forget that idea, OK?
But, jeez, what horrific timing!
As if the Kennedys haven't taken enough hits already, both in general, but especially this week, with Teddy's tragic cancer prognosis still feeling like a kick-in-the-gut..... For her to expose her sicko idea of the "miracle" she's been counting on in her wacko fight with Euclid over the realities of mathematics was just plain looney. And I don't care how tired she is from campaigning; being President is even harder. Look at any before-and-after pictures of Presidents. And then she offers nothing but a weak non-apology-apology from the salad dressing section, in which she knew she was so busted she couldn't make eye contact with anyone....
I'm looking forward to this Sunday's morning commentary shows.
Some people are trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, including Clinton supporter RFK, Jr., but I have little doubt about what she meant; we already know that she wants to win at whatever cost, and she's referred to the "miracle" that she's sticking around for before. I've always suspected that she was talking about a well-placed bolt of lightening that would conveniently narrow the Democratic field to just her....as Rachel Maddow said it's "ghoulish".
But regardless, I don’t really give a rat's ass if she stays in the race until she’s literally voted out or not, although it’s tedious-bordering-on-torture for this to just go on and on and on. And I do agree with part of one of her hot-button issues- I hate to see Michigan and Florida Democrats disenfranchised. It's horrific and should never have even been possible in the first place. I hope there can be a truly fair resolution to this, although I don’t see how unless they have a whole new election, FAST.
But whatever the DNC decides to do next weekend, simply seating the skewed, illegitimately-elected delegates, as-is, makes even less sense than a last-minute, possibly mail-in primary re-do. After all, the public had been told not to vote since the votes would not and could not count, therefore the result of that screwed-up primary is really a reflection of nothing except the Clinton campaign’s drive to push their people to the polls anyway, saying "if you vote, we’ll make them count it". That tactic might have actually been pretty smart, come to think of it, in that the resulting litigation could lead to the Court requiring the State to allow and provide a fair election.
But regardless, it won't be enough to get her the nomination anyway. (Whew!) The whole mess just makes Democrats look totally undemocratic, dangerously weak and indefensibly disorganized. Once you get power, you better be ready to use it capably, fairly, and efficiently, or you'll lose it quicker than you can say "special election". Back to ragging on Hillary. She's still exploiting her easily-led "base", obviously many of them under-educated, under-aware, easily-led bigots who don't know diddly-squat about American government, history, elections, Barack Obama, current events, etc., and just keep on cheering everything she says and does as always, clearly not understanding the issues AT ALL. Click on this link for Jon Stewart's take on the Great State of Stupidity in West Virginia.
What I care about more is Hillary’s willingness to selfishly, angrily throw the whole party under the bus if she doesn’t win. I’m guessing that this over-the-top sense of entitlement to the Oval Office must have something to do with her relationship with Bill, but regardless, I find her desperate, bug-eyed, red-faced ambition really disturbing. And the fact that Bill’s talking about “Chelsea in 2016” indicates to me that they're rolling pretty far off-the-rails. Is he kidding? Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Clinton, Clinton...?? OK, probably he was kidding... right?
I guess it bothers anybody who doesn’t cheat at Solitaire that she demands the rules she previously agreed to be changed in her favor, after the fact, all because when she agreed to the rules, she thought she would win! (Talk about your situational ethics!) And this week she compared her fight to seat the Florida/Michigan "delegates" to fighting slavery, Jim Crow laws, and elections in Zimbabwe, which is even more delusional than her confusion about the difference between Bosnian sniper-fire and Bosnian flowers.
This reminds me of playing with other kids in the ’50’s, and what a drag it was when kids would act like Hillary, making up new rules on the fly, breaking the old ones, making up lame excuses, etc. We called 'em what they were, “cheaters” (which used to be a big deal), and we wouldn’t let 'em play with us if they didn’t cut it out and play whatever-it-was by the rules, fair and square. Otherwise it's no fun.
And did I mention I really don’t like that Hillary lies like a rug, easily and naturally. Not good. Part of the cheating thing.
And her sudden claims of sexism being a significant factor in this election are a slap-in-the-face to women who have to deal with REAL sexism. Excuses, excuses. She just doesn’t like the fact she owes her biggest victories to racism and ignorance, so she turns to claims of sexism as a distraction. Gimme a break.
I'm a woman close to Hillary’s age and a longer-time Democrat, I can tell you, when the going gets tough, my opinion is that Hillary is no "sister"; she's out for herself and her own interests, period, no matter what her troops believe.
Of course, for the next 10 days or so it’s still her choice to stay or go, it’s very telling that she’s chosen to be dragged off the stage with a giant hook, throwing increasingly irrational tantrums as she leaves her teeth marks on the podium, instead of withdrawing with the maturity and class we need in a President.
But it’ll be over soon anyway either way. Hopefully the party will survive her unsatisfied ambitions.
It's just hard to believe that her goose-stepping, pantsuit mafia won't at least wonder about the appropriateness and legitimacy of Hillary comparing her campaign struggles to things like slavery, and citing RFK's assassination as a reason to stay in the race. Of course, they’d have to start thinking first, and there’s not much sign of that so far…
