Bush Still Pissing on OUR Constitution; Decides to Let Libby Scoot

I don't know why this has hit me so hard, considering everything else that's been done in the last 6-1/2 years by this uber-arrogant administration, but Bush's commutation of Scooter Libby's sentence (before he ever saw the inside of a jail), feels like the last straw.

While "obstruction of justice" and "perjury" don't sound all that serious (stacked up against tens of thousands of needless civilian and military casualties of the Iraq War), it's important to remember that it's all part of the same larger crime! The whole thing just sickens me.

So... I guess all we can do is to continue to insist that official investigations proceed undaunted until full light is shed on all of the shady, unconstitutional and/or illegal activities of the rest of that wacky gang at "The Mad-Cowboy Ranchhouse of Secrets" , formerly known as The White House, now more of a frat house in disgrace. (And Double-Secret Probation definitely isn't working!)

We particularly need a relentlessly bright spotlight following both
Trickier-Dick-Cheney and "Skater" Karl Rove, still deeper in the shadows than anyone.

Oh, and Gonzo; how ironic to almost forget the literally unbelievably-forgetful-Gonzo and his whole AG circus!

(This President values "loyalty" above all. )

So, for an antidote for a heavy heart , I am listening to my favorite speech by Barbara Jordan.

I'll never forget listening as this speech was first delivered (live on TV, on July 25, 1974), where Representative Barbara Jordan was undoubtedly the most eloquent, impressive of all the speakers on the House Judiciary Committee on Impeachment of President Nixon. I still get goosebumps when I hear the part that goes, "...my faith in the Constitution is whole; it is complete; it is total. And I am not going to sit here and be an idle spectator to the diminution, the subversion, the destruction, of the Constitution".

I miss her so much....

Most of what she said that day applies perfectly to today's dismal situation. If only we could fast-forward to an impeachment hearing against Cheney, then Bush. (Very important to get that order right...as they say, "Without Cheney, Bush is just nuts!")

As an American and another true believer in the Constitution, I am furious that our idiot-child President commuted the sentence of the first sitting White House official to actually be indicted in 130 years; Bush is doing all he can to ruin what little is left of our national credibility and self-esteem.

If he had any respect for the Rule of Law, he would have let the sentence stand; it was perfectly appropriate. But the message is clear; this administration really does hold itself WAY above the law and always will, and will continue to behave accordingly, utterly unafraid of EVER having to don one of those orange jumpsuits....
